Greetings, fellow cricket lovers.
With the wonderful memories of our South Africa tour in late January still reasonably fresh in my mind, I would like to take you on a "what if" journey to India.
India is a country I have visited many times over the last 20 years, and there will be 5 Test matches in January/February 2024 to be part of. But what do we do in-between matches? What will our partners do if they don't wish to watch 5 days of cricket, but would love to go to India?
We’re always happy to cater for those who would prefer to enjoy something other than 5 days of cricket. On the last tour, we arranged a cooking course hosted by one of Oberoi’s top chefs which was well attended and a huge success.
The India 2024 tour will start in the North in Shimla at the foot of the Himalayas, New Delhi and the Golden Triangle including Agra and Jaipur. We’ll also visit The Pink Palace in Jaipur and the fairy tale palace on the lake in Udaipur.
There will also be a sunset cruise down the Ganges, watching the setting sun with cold glass of wine. Then there’s the hustle and bustle of Mumbai, and a private lunch on a small island off the coast. Stay with us as we move south to Kerala and onto the Western state of Goa once a Portuguese colony. So much exploring to do, and still no mention of the cricket! In Goa we will enjoy a sunset cruise with cocktail and canapes to the mouth of the Mandovi river to watch the dolphins in the surf.
Over the next few weeks, we will be putting together various tour options so you can choose what sort of holiday is best suited to your needs.
For regular visitors, you will know what your preferences are but for first timers I hope that a few examples of what's on offer will have whet your appetite and encourage you to consider travelling with us.
