Tau Game Lodge, in the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, overlooks a vast natural waterhole, which attracts a variety of game, as does the diverse vegetation that thrives in the fertile topsoil.
The Madikwe Reserve boasts exceptional game viewing including breeding herds of Elephant, White and Black Rhino, Lion, Cheetah, Leopard and is one of the best places to see the endangered Wild Dog. Many of these animals can be seen quenching their thirst or simply cooling down by the waterhole. Click here to view live webcam footage of the waterhole. The reserve is also home to a bird population of over 250 different species making it the ideal choice for bird lovers.
Guests will be accommodated in one of the lodge’s 30 chalets, located to either side of the main lodge area and offering views of animals approaching the waterhole. Sliding doors, which lead onto private patios, allow for spectacular views of the beautiful tranquillity of the rugged and diverse bushveld that surrounds the property. This coupled with the African inspired décor will ensure guests can enjoy an authentic African bush experience.
Meals are included throughout your stay - breakfast and lunch are traditionally taken in the main dining room whilst dinner can be enjoyed under the stars in the boma or on the gently lit pool deck. Each day you will enjoy a morning and afternoon game drive. In between you are welcome to relax by one of the two pools or enjoy a relaxing treatment in the spa.
